Vietnam: HVS Starts Construction of 56.000 DWT Bulk Carrier

On 29th October, 2011, Steel Cutting Ceremony for the 56,000 DWT Bulk Carrier having Hull No. S049 has been organized at the Steel Processing Shop of Hyundai-Vinashin Shipyard (HVS). The ceremony was graced by the attendance of representatives from Ship Owner, DNV and HVS.

The S049 is the 4th order in a series of 8 vessels contracted with Turkish Buyer, Geden Lines.

The vessel has the following main particulars:

– Length : 188 m

– Breadth : 32.26 m

– Depth : 18.30 m

– Speed : 14.5 knots

– Cargo capacity: 70,700 m3

As scheduled, Keeling Laying Ceremony for the vessel will be taken place in May, 2012 and delivery in November, 2012.
