China: Jinhai Shipyard Starts Construction of New Bulk Carrier

On Oct. 28th morning, the steel cutting ceremony for 82,000 DWT bulk carrier J0110 was held in Dock 1 in Jinhai Shipyard as a subsidiary company of Jinhai Heavy Industry.

82,000DWT bulk carrier is a new optimized and upgraded production on the basis of 79,600DWT bulk carrier in mature ship-type. Compared with the ship type of 79,600DWT bulk carrier, cargo cubic of 82,000DWT bulk carrier has been expanded by 1000m3, with its deadweight added by 2,400 tons and speed increased by 0.3 knots/h, as well as 5.57 tons of saved oil consumption.

So far, four 82,000DWT bulk carriers have already been under construction, while ten more follow-up ones will be put into production successively.
