Subsea organisations must avoid catastrophic events by ensuring all aspects of subsea equipment integrity are addressed at the design stage. This is the message that will be relayed at a Subsea UK event to be held at the Hilton Paris La Defense in the French capital on 14 and 15 November.
Industry leaders from Xodus Group, First Subsea, GDF Suez, Technip, Total and Schlumberger will gather at Subsea Europe to highlight the significance of ensuring first-class subsea integrity, safety and environmental protection; examine deepwater and Arctic challenges and discuss global market trends.
Subsea UK chief executive, Neil Gordon said: “ Subsea Europe is a key event on the subsea industry’s calendar and one which allows debate among participants from across Europe on issues of importance to this market.
“This year’s impressive conference programme features industry speakers at the top of their game. During these discussions, the increasing challenges of subsea integrity will be scrutinised.”
UK subsea companies Paradigm Flow Solutions, BPP-TECH, Castrol Offshore and Fisher Offshore will be joined by leading Frenchoil and gas industry association, GEP-AFTP, in showcasing their latest innovations to an audience from across Europe at an exhibition which will run parallel to the conference sessions.
Mr Gordon added: “ The UK’s subsea industry prides itself on its game-changing approach to technological developments and this year’s exhibition is a true example of British innovation and technology.”
John Hill, senior consultant, production and assurance at Xodus, will discuss managing the integrity threat of subsea pipework fatigue failure during the session on health, safety and environment alongside speakers from MSi Kenny, Paradigm Flow Solutions and Technip.
Delegates will hear from a strong line-up of speakers during the second session on deepwater and Arctic challenges following a welcome speech from the director of UKTI France. Bill Edgar, Subsea UK’s chairman will preside over discussions led by Ecosse Subsea Systems, Pulse Structural Monitoring and 2H Offshore Engineering and Oil States.
Presentations from Total, First Subsea, KOLPI and Schlumberger will examine the matter of installation and inspection. This will be followed by a session focussing on current market trends featuring speakers from GDF Suez, Decom North Sea and Infield.
