UK: BG’s CEO Joins Rolls-Royce Board

Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, announces that Sir Frank Chapman has today joined the Board as a non-executive Director. Sir Frank is the Chief Executive of BG Group and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

Sir Simon Robertson, Rolls-Royce Chairman , said: “I am delighted to welcome Sir Frank Chapman onto the Board of Rolls-Royce as a non-executive director. Frank has a life-long passion for engineering and innovation. His deep understanding of technology and his outstanding record of business achievement will be of great value to Rolls-Royce and I am looking forward to working with him”.

Sir Frank graduated with first class honours in Mechanical Engineering from Queen Mary College, London University. He has spent over 37 years in the oil and gas industry during which time he has lived and worked overseas for some eighteen years. He has been Chief Executive at BG Group for the last 11 years, managing the Group through a period of transformational growth and international diversification, and has been a member of the Board of BG Group (previously British Gas plc) for 14 years.
