Beach Energy Ltd announced the appointment of Mr. Rod Rayner to its Executive Management Team in the role of Group Executive – Strategic Business and External Affairs.

Mr. Rayner is a highly regarded and well known executive with more than 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He has held senior executive roles with Santos and AGL and up to 2004, was the General Manager of Santos’ Queensland & Northern Territory business unit. Rod has extensive commercial oil and gas experience across the full range of project development and marketing activities, complementing his technical background in exploration geology.

In recent years, Rod has been an industry consultant and active in the negotiation of a number of significant oil and gas projects in Australia and overseas. While acting as a consultant for Beach in 2005, Rod was instrumental in providing strategic advice and managing the $35 million acquisition of the Tipton West CSG project. Beach successfully sold out of Tipton West, its only CSG project, in 2009 for $400 million.

Beach’s Managing Director, Mr Reg Nelson , said: “ We are delighted that Rod has accepted this appointment to join the Beach team. The timing of his appointment could not have been better scripted as the company moves toward an exciting growth phase with its operations in the Cooper Basin and overseas .”
