On 15th November 2011 Polskie LNG S.A. began the Procedure of Allocating the Regasification Capacity of the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście.
After completing in 2009 the so called Open Season procedure resulting in contracting approx. 65% of the capacity to PGNiG, there is still nearly 35% of the terminal’s regasification capacity left. The submission of the applications for the remaining capacity will be closed on 30th December 2011.
As a consequence of conducting the Procedure of Allocating the Regasification Capacity of the terminal, Polskie LNG shall provide the regasificating capacity amounting to 200 thousand Nm3/h. The date of applying for the remaining capacity by interested entities shall expire with the end of 2011. After this date, Polskie LNG S.A. shall allocate the available regasification capacity in accordance with the established and published on the company’s website Procedure (www.polskielng.pl/usługi). The allocation of the capacity and the choice of the contracting party will be influenced by the quality of the placed offer. Long-term agreements and those of possibly highest capacity shall be most preferred. The decision about the final choice of the contracting party (or parties) shall be announced on 30th January 2012.
‘ Due to great interest in the remaining capacity coming from both Polish and foreign partners, we decided to allow those interested to obtain the capacity already at this stage’ explains Zbigniew Rapciak, the President of Polskie LNG . ‘ The process is open; anyone interested will be able to take part in it. The primary criterion during the offer assessment will be the contract duration as well as maximum offered capacity. The higher the digits will be, the more beneficial the conditions of the contract for those placing the offers. It is also worth noticing that the higher the allocated capacity shall be, the lower the unit rates of the regasification services ’ emphasizes Mr. Rapciak.
