Hengeler Mueller advises DONG Energy on acquisition of project rights for offshore wind farm Borkum Riffgrund West 1 DONG Energy has acquired the project rights for the offshore wind farm Borkum Riffgrund West 1 from Energiekontor AG. The wind farm could potentially consist of up to 80 turbines with a total capacity of up to 400 MW.
Borkum Riffgrund West 1 is located in the German part of the North Sea only 9 kilometres from DONG Energy’s existing German offshore wind project Borkum Riffgrund 1, which is expected to generate first power in 2014.
Hengeler Mueller is providing advice to DONG Energy on the project. The Hengeler Mueller team consists of partners Nicolas Böhm, Albrecht Conrad (Corporate/M&A, Berlin) and Thomas Schmidt-Kötters (Regulatory, Düsseldorf) as well as the associates Moritz Gröning, Anna Schulz (Berlin) and Moritz Quecke (Düsseldorf).
