Technip announces the formation of a new and enhanced worldwide consultancy, subsea and offshore engineering services company. This new company is a combination of Technip wholly owned subsidiary Genesis Oil and Gas Consultants and the deepwater engineering team of Technip in Houston.

The newly formed organization called Genesis will aim to be the worldwide leader in early phase engineering consultancy and full-lifecycle subsea and offshore engineering services. Working independently from Technip, it will provide objective engineering services to the energy sector.

Genesis has major execution centers in Houston, London, Aberdeen, and Perth, with the combined knowledge and expertise of 1,000 talented engineers, including 500 people with a subsea focus and one of the largest flow assurance groups in the world. This operation is a continuation of Genesis growth strategy which has seen the opening of offices in Abu Dhabi, Norway, Brazil, Paris and Tunisia over the last 2 years.

Thierry Pilenko, Chairman and CEO of Technip , commented: “ Genesis has built a reputation of delivering the best independent analysis to maximize the potential of field developments for their clients all over the world. This, combined with the strength of the dedicated deepwater engineering talents of the Group in Houston will create a powerhouse team that can add value to all our clients from exploration through to field abandonment, while reinforcing Technip global leadership in the Subsea and Offshore businesses. ”

John Cambridge, Managing Director of Genesis , stated: “ We can now offer to our clients a single, integrated consultancy covering world class subsea and offshore engineering, including deepwater riser engineering services. The enlarged, worldwide group can provide new and existing customers with a more efficient and personal service, as well as being a very exciting place to work for our employees. We now combine within Genesis expertise in front-end engineering and excellence in project execution, a combination which will enable us to accelerate our growth worldwide. ”
