Recently, Esso Highlands Limited, the operator of the PNG LNG Project, visited the Kikori Hospital to donate a microscope to assist with both tuberculosis and malaria diagnosis.
The Project also provided other diagnostic materials and supplies including stethoscopes, examination gloves, infant scales, and labour monitoring supplies.
The Project is actively supporting training and improving laboratory capabilities for the Kikori Hospital to address the high incidences of TB in the area, and is also supporting the PNG Institute of Medical Research with their efforts to help improve diagnostic capability and develop accurate disease information for this area.
