On the 11.11.11 RasGas marked another significant occasion by commencing the move into the new RasGas Headquarters in Doha.
Located in the heart of West Bay’s commercial centre, the new RasGas Headquarters is not only an innovative building for Doha with its hexagonal foot print and distinctive palm shaped exterior but it embodies the company’s values and some of the strategic priorities that lie at the heart of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
The 57-storey building will accommodate over 1,200 RasGas personnel and is outfitted to meet RasGas’ strategic choice of putting the welfare of its people at the forefront. RasGas recognises that its people are one of the key factors in its success and has made the workplace as positive an experience as possible for its people. By focusing on excellence in the workplace the company is creating a positive environment for its employees to thrive and achieve the highest performance in their work.
The design concept for the RasGas Headquarters was conceived following exhaustive collaboration and consultation with RasGas employees. The layout of a typical floor includes a fully equipped multi-functional meeting room, a waiting lounge area, central storage, self-service pantry and high tech mail and reprographic facilities combined with both closed and open office planning.
RasGas’ premise of the energy to transform is manifested in the social heart of the new headquarters, the Life Centre. Two floors are dedicated to the welfare of employees with facilities encouraging spontaneous interaction including a restaurant, recreation area and prayer rooms. These amenities were among the most requested by employees in the initial research.
Significantly, RasGas employees wanted their new workspace to reflect the company’s core commitment to protecting the environment. This desire is embodied in the new building goal of achieving Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for commercial interiors. This third party internationally recognised certification programme covers design, construction and operation to ensure that high performance green buildings are environmentally compatible and provide a health work environment for its occupants.
With the move of over 100 number people on 11.11.11 and the staggered move of over 1,100 more personnel between now and March 2012, RasGas employees are ready to prosper in a world class working environment.
