DESH Shipbuilding with its headquarters in Bhatiary has successfully launched the 8.36-metre ‘Prantik Explorer’, a new aluminum utility vessel.
Trials were conducted in Chittagong and the launching took place on December 12, 2011.
The 1.42-tonne bollard pull vessel is powered by a single 165kW Cummins 6BT59 main engine for a service speed of more than 15 knots. The vessel can accomodate 10 and has a range of 300nm.
DESH Shipbuilding and Engineering Ltd (DSEL), an enterprise of Prantik Group, has recently entered into the flourishing shipbuilding industry in Bangladesh with an aim to build specialized Aluminum ships.
Being established in May 2008 under the umbrella of Prantik Group, the company has been engaged in developing infrastructure facilities to become a shipyard of international stature.
Situated in Bhatiary of Sitakunda, Chittagong, on an area of 26,000 square feet ,where there are two weather proof covered production sheds, each of 10,000 square feet with state-of-the-art equipment. The shipyard is now completely ready to build Aluminum ship of any size, which includes pilot vessel, offshore supply vessel, pleasure boat, cruise ship, patrol boat, ambulance ship and others within stipulated timeframe at the lowest cost.
