Portuguese town Peniche will soon start generating power from the waves on the power plant called WaveRoller.

Estaleiros Navais de Peniche has been testing an innovative wave energy structure which weighs 280 tons and is 44 meters long.

The prospect of the project is to utilize currents to trigger the seven-meter wings of the unit resulting in power generation. Installation of the device will take approximately twelve meters beneath the sea surface.

This prosperous five million euros worth project will create 300 Kw/hour what is sufficient enough to power a town with 2000 residents.
