UK: Shetland Islands Council Invites Tenders for Underwater Cable Laying Works

Shetland Islands Council has announced a tender procedure for underwater cable laying works. The Council intends to place an underwater fiber optic telecommunications cable in Clift Sound from the Trondra Bridge to Maywick. The works consist of laying a cable from an existing manhole adjacent to the

Shetland Islands Council has announced a tender procedure for underwater cable laying works.

The Council intends to place an underwater fiber optic telecommunications cable in Clift Sound from the Trondra Bridge to Maywick.

The works consist of laying a cable from an existing manhole adjacent to the Trondra Bridge to Faroese Telecom’s building at Maywick.

All applicants must initially pass a selection procedure prior to being invited to tender or a negotiation proceeding.

The due date for the submission of offers relating to the released tender procedure is January 26, 2012.
