Ten teachers from the Hull region are going to become educators in a renewable industry education program started by Forewind.

Forewind is a consortium comprising four leading international energy companies which joined forces to bid for the Dogger Bank Zone Development Agreement as part of The Crown Estate’s third license round for UK offshore wind farms.

Teachers have attended a conference about renewables and now can present their knowledge to their pupils. Stephen Logan, ICT and business studies teacher at Malet Lambert school in east Hull, thinks that it is important to spread knowledge about renewables, because it represents future for the whole region.

Forewind’s general manager Lee Clarke stated: “ It made sense for us to focus on the area around the onshore infrastructure for our first development – Dogger Bank Creyke Beck – to ensure the nearby community is aware of the potential opportunities offshore wind may bring.

“ We hope it will boost the numbers of local young people interested in a career in the industry .”
