Alicat Workboats has created 30 new jobs in Great Yarmouth by signing a contract for two aluminum work boats, reports EDP 24.

These boats are used to transfer workers to offshore wind turbines. Demand for the crew transfer vessels is rising with the expansion of the renewable energy sector and is higher than Alicat’s supply capacity. The company will be striving to increase its capacity in Yarmouth yard to build more boats, thus more available jobs will be generated.

Arklow Marine will construct two aluminum work boats, worth GBP 1.7 million each, for the Alicat Workboats.

Since Alicat bosses are satisfied with Arklow Marine’s work, they will seek to extend their contract this spring.
