Liquefied natural gas exports from the Angola LNG project will start in May, rather than in March, due to the need to make further tests at the terminal, state news agency Angop reported, citing Sonangol’s executive director, Mateus de Brito.
Speaking at a press conference called to mark the 36th anniversary of Sonangol, he said the date has been postponed due to pending tests on the project, Angop reported.
The Angola LNG plant will have a capacity of 5.2 million tons (6.8 Bcm) per year, 360,000 cm of full containment LNG storage, LPG and condensate storage and a loading jetty.
The partners in Angola LNG project are: Sonangol (22.8%) and affiliates of Chevron (36.4%), Total (13.6%), BP (13.6%), and ENI (13.6%).
