The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has started the 3D seismic data acquisition over two offshore blocks, Umid and Babak. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has started the 3D seismic data acquisition over two offshore blocks, Umid and Babak.
The geophysical survey started on 27 February and is being conducted by Caspian Geophysical from its vessel named Gilavar. According to the company, these exploration activities are expected to end in April.
It is believed that Umid and Babak blocks united may contain 600 million – 1 billion cubic meters of gas.
