The ten regional electric power companies in Japan consumed 4,996,842 mt of LNG in February, a year-on-year rise of 44 percent, according to the Federation of Electric Power Companies of Japan (FEPC).
The power companies received 5,093,278 mt of LNG in February, a rise of 26.5 percent on year.
The companies consumed 5,234,278 mt of LNG in January, a year-on-year rise of 27.1 percent.
Japan’s monthly LNG imports have been rising steadily year-on-year, due to the devastating earthquake and tsunami in March 2011.
