UK: Coretrax’s Expansion in Aberdeen

Aberdeen-based oilfield service company Coretrax Technology Ltd has recruited 3 new staff bringing its team in Aberdeen to twelve.

Chris Calder joins as Operations Manager from Halliburton Energy Services. Chris, who has a MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Strathclyde University, brings several years of experience from both an engineering and sales background.

Coretrax specialises in the design and production of innovative and reliable wellbore tools for drilling, completion and workover operations. Operating from its workshop and office space in Aberdeen, Claire Howard joins the administration team to assist with the day-to-day running of the office.

Other new recruits include Ian Spence as a Workshop Technician to assist with the delivery and maintenance of equipment.

Chris said: “ It is very exciting to be joining a young, dynamic technology firm and we have a great team in Aberdeen headed by founder Kenny Murray. We are focused on developing new products to meet the needs of the industry and we have some exciting R&D plans for 2011. With our contacts throughout the global oilfield industry Coretrax has built a reputation for being able assist with oilfield equipment requirements for our clients. ”

Coretrax began operating in April 2009 and is on target to turnover £1million with further appointments planned for 2011.

Kenny Murray, managing director , added: “Obviously the financial results we have achieved are important but we also place high importance on other key areas of our business such as accident prevention, the health of our employees and protection of the environment. This commitment was recognised when were awarded the ISO 9001:2008 accreditation earlier this year.”

In addition to the wellbore clean up equipment division, the firm also has a new completion/ intervention tools division and rental tools division.
