RigNet, Inc., a leading global provider of managed remote communications solutions to the oil and gas industry, today announced the opening of a full-service office in Macaé, Brazil under the leadership of Mauricio Rubinsztajn, RigNet’s general manager for Brazil.

RigNet’s Macaé office, a sales and service center, positions RigNet to provide high-quality managed remote communications solutions and collaborative applications to drilling contractors, oil and gas operators and oilfield service companies conducting business in Brazil.

“We are excited to announce the opening of our country office in Macaé, the hub of the oil and gas industry in Brazil,” said Hector Maytorena, RigNet’s vice president and general manager, Western Hemisphere. “The office is fully operational, run by a team of knowledgeable sales representatives and highly-trained field support personnel. In addition to providing sales and services, RigNet has an in-country warehouse for inventory and sparing, allowing for speedy deployment and service.”

Rubinsztajn has joined RigNet from Harris CapRock Communications where he served most recently as director of operations, South America. His extensive remote communications background includes management and sales roles with STM Networks, Intelsat and Embratel. He holds a B.Sc. in communications engineering from the Military Institute of Engineering (IME) in Rio de Janeiro and an MBA from the University of Maryland.
