FES International, a global supplier of fluid transfer systems for the offshore industry has been commissioned to supply North Sea oil exploration and development company, Xcite Energy, with a bespoke swivel system.

The fluid swivels are used for subsea well heads and attach to flexible risers to prevent contortion between the well and the Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) unit on the water surface.

With a completion date of the end of March 2012, the FES swivels are currently being produced for Xcite Energy’s offshore operations on the Bentley Field, located on Block 9/3b, 160km east of the Shetland isles in 113m of water.

“Our swivel systems have been developed to operate at high pressure and axial loading ranges and can function from 0 to 10,000 psi.” Says Ian Latimer, Technical Director at FES International.

“We design swivels to be bespoke in accordance with client specifications to offer our customers flexibility. All products offer a multiple sealing system which includes leak detection and can operate with a diverse range of fluids.”

FES can provide a range of swivel systems including production, gas, hydraulic & utility, chemical injection, single, in-line and multi path designs.
