VERIPOS has been awarded a new three-year contract by Kuala Lumpur based Orogenic Geoexpro for the continued provision of services to the Malaysian company’s fleet of vessels engaged on geophysical surveys, rig moves and major construction support projects throughout South East Asia.

Services provided by VERIPOS under the new contract include a combination of its dual-beam Standard and Ultra Precise Point Positioning (PPP) facilities, supported by shipborne hardware of 30 LD3SG1 and 10 LD3G2 integrated mobile receivers. Also available is a series of proprietary software modules for real-time monitoring, control and QC operations.

Precise Point Positioning (PPP) is a method that performs precise position determination using a single GPS receiver. This positioning approach arose from the advent of widely available precise GPS orbit and clock data products with centimetre accuracy. The data can be applied to substantially reduce the errors in GPS satellite orbits and clocks, two of the most significant error sources in GPS positioning. PPP is able to provide positioning solutions at centimetre to decimetre level and uses highly precise satellite clock estimates.

Commenting on the contract award, Raymond Wong, VERIPOS’s Asia-Pacific Regional Manager in Singapore, said: “ This further consolidates our working relationship with one of Malaysia’s leading survey organizations, ensuring that we remain a major supplier of quality GNSS positioning services to a wide range of South East Asian users. ”

Formed in early 2003, Orogenic GeoExpro Sdn. Bhd. (OGEO) is a home grown Malaysian company, specializing in Survey and Positioning Services, in support of the Offshore Oil & Gas and Construction companies in Malaysia and the Asia Pacific region.
