Novacavi has recently developed a bespoke composite tow cable with a very special heavy armour and breaking strength higher than 1000kN to be used in fishery sector.

Due to its peculiar application, this cable has to be specifically designed with an overall protection made of compacted smooth greased ropes of high strength galvanized steel.

Its configuration has to meet customer stringent requirements of:

– a very high abrasion resistance to avoid cable breaks on seabed

– a very good pressure distribution during working phases on automatic wheels

– a very high breaking strength for seawater operation

All together these characteristics have to guarantee – as a result – a longer service life of this composite tow cable and an improved performance and efficiency of the whole working situation on the ship and into the water.

The same very special heavy armouring of this latest tow cable can be supplied in a variety of single length versions as most of Novacavi’ production.
