Transocean Barents anchored up at the Jette field Friday May 4th, and has begun the first phase of drilling. The first operation will be a observation well at Jette north. Drilling of the two planned production wells will be next. Transocean Barents will remain at the Jette Field until August .
The Jette field is being developed with two horizontal wells, tied to the Jotun field via a pipeline. Output from Jotun and Jette will be mixed on Jotun B, and sent to Jotun A (FPSO) for processing and export.
Well heads from Cameron was identified as a critical delivery for starting the first drilling phase. With good support from Cameron and the project, it was delivered on time.
Facts :
Jette is one of the smallest oil fields in the North Sea. Although the field is small in resources, it still represents value for the Det norske and the Norwegian society. Based on a recovery rate of 30 percent Jette contains around 14 million barrels of oil equivalent.
The first oil from Jette is expected in the first quarter of 2013. Production will the first year be about 14,000 barrels per day.
Det norske has a share of 88 percent in Jette, while partner Petoro has 12 percent.
