Gardline Geosciences Limited announces that it has signed a contract with Red7Marine for the long term charter of the 91 m, DP2 vessel DP Reel.

The addition of the DP Reel increases Gardline’s geotechnical fleet to 7 units, of which 3 are based in European waters. This vessel will undertake borehole, seabed sampling and cone penetrometer testing projects and is available for worldwide deployment.

Following Gardline’s recent completion of a highly successful shallow geotechnical sampling and CPT campaign in the South Atlantic, DP Reel will now be equipped with a permanently installed drill rig, mounted over the vessel’s moon pool, in advance of the vessel’s next assignment offshore Canada.

DP Reel, which will be available for further assignments from mid-summer onwards, can operate in water depths as shallow as 6.0m LAT in DP mode and can if required, support geotechnical or other operations in near shore locations.

Eric Zon, Managing Director of Gardline Geosciences commented, “Contracting this dynamically positioned vessel from Red7Marine, a leading provider of offshore energy maritime and inland subsea and civil engineering services, shows the continuing commitment from Gardline to provide a comprehensive range of offshore geotechnical units suitable for worldwide deployment on Oil & Gas, Offshore Renewables or other high-profile projects.”
