UK: Wood Group Bolsters Team with New Appointment

Wood Group, the international energy services company, announces that Mary Shafer-Malicki will join Wood Group as a non-executive director on 1 June 2012 and will also join the Board’s Nomination and Audit Committees. Wood Group, the international energy services company, announces that Mary Shafer-Malicki will join Wood Group as a non-executive director on 1 June 2012 and will also join the Board’s Nomination and Audit Committees.

Mary worked for Amoco and BP for 17 years, latterly a Senior Vice President and CEO for BP Angola, with previous appointments in Vietnam, Aberdeen, Holland and the USA, principally in upstream activities. She retired from BP in 2009 to focus on her broader business, educational and charitable interests. She is currently a non-executive director of McDermott International, Inc. and of Ausenco Ltd and she is a member of industry councils at Oklahoma State University and the University of Wyoming.

Welcoming her appointment, Sir Ian Wood, Chairman , said “We are delighted to welcome Mary to the Board. Her in depth experience of the international oil & gas upstream industry, her international knowledge and her location in the US, will all be of great value to the Group”.
