India: Cairn’s Platforms Need Blasting and Painting

Cairn Energy India Pty Ltd., the Operator of the Offshore Ravva block located off the east coast of India has announced that two of its platforms in the field need blasting and painting.

The company has called experienced contractors to file their Expression Of Interests for the job that is expected to begin in November this year. The scope of work includes Copper Slag Blasting and painting of the two offshore platforms including provision of material and manpower.

Under the contract, the contractor, which needs to have at least 5 years of experience with similar projects, will be required to provide one accommodation and storage vessel and two service boats.

Cairn India is one of the largest oil and gas exploration and production company and has a working interest in nine blocks in India and one block in Sri Lanka. Three of these are currently producing hydrocarbons.

The company has made over 40 hydrocarbon discoveries in the last decade and operates the largest producing oilfield in the Indian private sector.
