Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies (KOGT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kongsberg Gruppen ASA, has established a new office in Perth, Australia. The new office, which was officially opened on 14th June 2012, will provide sales and technical support to customers across Australasia.
“The growing number of developments in sensitive areas and the amount of unconventional drilling is driving a requirement for intelligent IT solutions in the West Coast offshore sector and the upstream industry throughout Australasia, so now is the ideal time to develop a permanent base here,” comments Hugh Griffiths, General Manager Australia, KOGT.
The new office will become the first point of contact for all customers operating in Australasia but will focus on KOGT solutions and services in the fields of Drilling Software, Simulation and flow assurance projects. These disciplines are vital to ensuring the continued safety, growth and sustainability of upstream operations in the region.
“We already support a number of major developments here including drilling data contracts based on our SiteCom product for Woodside and Apache. By being closer to the customer we will be able to provide an even better service to those we are already working with whilst being better positioned to support other developments and operators with our products and services,” concludes Hugh .
KOGT now has 16 offices in Norway and around the world, including facilities in Aberdeen, Abu Dhabi, Houston, Mumbai, Rio de Janeiro and Singapore.
