Merchant ships can now register preliminarily in the Danish DAS and DIS shipping registers on the basis of a copy of the deletion certificate from the ship’s previous register. This meets a request from the business for quicker registration of loans.
From June 20 2012, a preliminary registration with a time-limit makes it possible to register rights, including mortgages, just by presenting a copy of the deletion certificate from the ship’s previous register. Final registration is made when the original certificate is presented to the Register of Shipping. There is a time-limit of seven workdays to present the original certificate.
