Dolphin Geophysical in co-operation with Searcher Seismic are about to commence acquisition of 2,000 km2 of high-resolution 3D Multi-Client data over open acreage in the Barents Sea using Dolphin’s 12 streamer high capacity 3D seismic vessel, Polar Duke.
The blocks and data coverage were nominated and designed for the upcoming 22 governmental licensing round in Norway, by pre-committing clients working close with Dolphin and Searcher designing the Multi-Client program.
Searcher Seismic, Geir Helgesen Sales & Business Manager commented, “Following the success of the recent high resolution 2D survey a focused area will be covered by the 3D, which will for the first time offer a 3D high resolution image of the Byornoya fault complex”.
Ian T. Edwards, VP Global Multi-Client at Dolphin said, “We are pleased to be able to establish Dolphin as a new 3D seismic Multi Client data provider in the highly attractive Barents Sea region. We fully utilize the 12 streamer capacity of Polar Duke, to minimize acquisition time and combined with fast track processing, the attractive data will be provided to clients prior to the 22 licensing round”.
