Simon Møkster last week signed a contract with Spanish shipyard Astilleros Gondan for the building of the advanced Platform Supply Vessel of UT776 WP design.

This will be the second vessel Astilleros Gondan constructs for Møkster. Gondan has previously delivered the multi field support vessel “Stril Merkur”.

“Møkster is very pleased with the contract, as our previous experience with the Shipyard are very good. The vessel will be delivered during the summer of 2014”, said the company in a statement.

After the delivery the vessel will be chartered to Statoil for three years with three annual options. The PSV will be equipped with the latest environmental technology and is specially designed for operation in the High North.

On June 15, Statoil awarded contracts for the charter of seven new supply vessels for the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
