Seaboard Marine, an ocean transportation company seated in the U.S., has placed an order for construction of four new dry bulk carriers, which are to be built in Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard in China, Sea Trade Asia writes.
The 28,000 dwt bulk carriers will be designed in such a way that they meet the latest requirements for fuel efficiency, but at the same time they will be outfitted with superior propulsion system enabling the vessels to develop optimal speed. This will aid to Seaboard Marine’s striving to expand its capacities while operating on a route between the United States and the Caribbean Basin, Central and South America.
Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard, a large shipbuilding, ship repair and heavy industry enterprise in the south China, specializes in new building of full container ship series, dredger series, oil product tankers and multi-purpose cargo ships. According to the company, with the latest order from its U.S. client the order book of the shipyard totals in eight vessels to-date, the enterprise said.
