AF Group to Deliver 6 Cranes for Statoil’s Statfjord Platforms (Norway)

AF Group (AFG) has received a letter of intent from Statoil ASA for delivery of 6 wireline cranes. 2 cranes at Statfjord C, and 4 cranes at Statfjord B. The contract comprises delivery of cranes with Hydraulic Power Unit and adapted fundaments. The contract will have a value in excess of NOK 60 mill

AF Group (AFG) has received a letter of intent from Statoil ASA for delivery of 6 wireline cranes. 2 cranes at Statfjord C, and 4 cranes at Statfjord B.

The contract comprises delivery of cranes with Hydraulic Power Unit and adapted fundaments. The contract will have a value in excess of NOK 60 million ex. VAT.

Construction will start in August 2012 with expected completion in February 2014.

“The AF Group has built up expertise and capacity to handle this type of assignment from the offshore industry. It is therefore a recognition that Statoil again has chosen the AF Group as contractor for cranes on its North Sea platforms” , says Pål Egil Rønn, CEO of the AF Group.

Statfjord is an oil field located on both sides of the demarcation line between the Norwegian and UK continental shelves in the Tampen area.
