Anadarko Petroleum Corporation today announced Robert D. “Doug” Lawler, formerly Vice President, Operations, has been promoted to Sr. Vice President, International and Deepwater Operations, and will join the company’s Executive Committee.

“The promotion of Doug Lawler to Sr. Vice President, International and Deepwater Operations, recognizes his exceptional contributions to Anadarko over the years,” Anadarko President and CEO Al Walker said. “With Anadarko’s expanding opportunities in the international, deepwater and U.S. onshore areas, we are fortunate to further leverage Doug’s experience and proven capabilities by adding him to our executive E&P (exploration and production) leadership team.”

Lawler joins Bob Daniels, Sr. Vice President, International and Deepwater Exploration; Bob Gwin, Sr. Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer; Chuck Meloy, Sr. Vice President, U.S. Onshore Exploration and Production; and Bobby Reeves, Sr. Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer, on Anadarko’s Executive Committee, reporting to Walker.

Lawler has more than 20 years of experience in the oil and natural gas industry, beginning his career in 1988 with Kerr-McGee Corporation, which was acquired by Anadarko in 2006. He has held positions of increasing responsibility within operations, business planning and analysis departments, and most recently served as Vice President, Operations, overseeing the company’s production and development activities in both the U.S. Onshore Southern and Appalachia regions and the International region. Lawler holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and an MBA degree from Rice University. He is a member of the World Affairs Council, Society of Petroleum Engineers and Houston Museum of Natural Science.
