Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd has, through its Brazilian subsidiary Keppel FELS Brasil, been awarded a contract by MODEC and Toyo Offshore Production Systems Pte Ltd (MTOPS), to construct topsides for an FPSO.
The contract, estimated at USD 200 million, encompasses the fabrication and integration of topside modules for the FPSO Cidade de Mangaratiba MV24 at Keppel FELS Brasil’s yard in Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Work is expected to start at BrasFELS in later this year. The major work scope includes fabrication of the helideck, flare tower, risers, manifolds, waste heat recovery units, sulphate removal unit, water injection unit and integration.

The FPSO Cidade de Mangaratiba MV24 will be moored in the Cernambi field (formerly named Iracema) on Block BM-S-11 in the giant “pre-salt” region of the Santos Basin with its water depth of 2,300m.
Scheduled for delivery during the 3rd quarter of 2014, the FPSO will begin its 20-year long charter contract with a consortium established by Petrobras, BG Group and Galp Energia. It will have a daily production capacity of 150,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and storage of 1,600,000 barrels of oil.

MODEC and Mitsui have already provided two FPSOs for the pre-salt oil field, and this will be their third pre-salt related FPSO chartering project.
