Royal Imtech N.V. (IM-AE, technical services provider in and outside Europe) has acquired the Belgian maritime technical services provider Van Stappen & Cada NV. The acquisition will be paid in cash and will immediately contribute to the earnings per share. It will enable Imtech to further strengthen its position in the Belgian marine market.

Van Stappen & Cada profile

Van Stappen & Cada was established in 1991 and is based in Antwerp’s port area. The firm specialises in marine electronics, electrical solutions and air conditioning and primarily concentrates on services, repairs, maintenance and renovation, with a strong focus on inland shipping. Its activities include electric systems, radar technology, propulsion, cameras, HVAC solutions and batteries. The company has built up a solid reputation and a broad client base. Its specific strength is 24/7 service and maintenance, offered to clients on the basis of a recurring business model. To this end, the firm has set up a fully equipped workshop as well as a mobile workshop that can quickly serve clients on location in Belgium, Germany and France when required.

Synergy

Van Stappen & Cada and Imtech Marine’s competences and market specialisations complement one another. After all, in the Belgian marine market, Imtech Marine primarily focuses on navigation and communications systems for merchant ships, dredgers, fishing vessels and yachts. The newly acquired company will help Imtech – in line with Imtech Marine’s growth strategy – to fast-track its development into a comprehensive provider of marine services that is able to offer a full range of technical services in all market segments – from newly constructed vessels to maintenance, repairs and renovation (the lifecycle approach). This creates significant added value for Imtech’s clients and allows them to more efficiently exploit their vessels. A 24/7 service and maintenance specialist fits perfectly within this vision.
