Statoil has awarded the concept and FEED Engineering Contract of the SURF package on Peregrino II in Brazil to IKM Ocean Design.

The project starts immediately and will run up to the Summer 2013.

Peder Hoås, Managing Director in IKM Ocean Design , says in a press release that this is a very strategic project for IKM Ocean Design, as it suits very well with the plans the IKM Group has for future activities in Brazil.

”We see a big potential in the SURF market in Brazil, this project is therefore a very important reference project for IKM Ocean Design” , Hoås says.

The Peregrino field is located in the South western part of the Campos Basin, approximately 85 km from shore. Peregrino II is planned to be tied-in to Peregrino I, consisting of two wellhead platforms (A and B) and one FPSO. As part of the Peregrino II development, a new wellhead platform (C) is planned for. The pipelines and power cables from Peregrino II will be connected to the FPSO. The distance between the two fields is approximately 20 km.

Statoil recently entered a 5 year contract with BW Offshore for the operation of the FPSO Peregrino , with options for additional 15 years.
