Esvagt Aurora, standby safety vessel, outfitted with cutting edge technology enabling the vessel to sustain harsh weather conditions, has officially joined the fleet of Danish company Esvagt, Info Marine released. This is the third vessel constructed by Zamakona Yards for Esvagt.
With 87 m of length and 17 meters of breadth, the vessel has already been chartered out to ENI Norge oil company for ten years for a mission in the colds of the Barents Sea.
The 4,000 tonne ship incorporates the latest technology in rescue boat embarkation and launching, followed by a system for ice build-up prevention and necessary equipment for battling marine pollution.
The said equipment will be tested out during provision of immediate response in cases of emergencies on oil platforms, which is the main purpose of the vessel. An emergency response rescue vessel is permanently located at offshore installations where it provides service and is ready for 24 hours a day work in all kinds of weather.
Zamakona Yards is constructing vessels of up to 120 m length from its two yards based in Bilbao and San Sebastian. It is also engaged in repair and maintenance work.
