Continuing IKM Testing’s International Divisions expansion strategy, the company has recently acquired the locally owned Brazilian testing and equipment rental company, R13, a company founded and based in Macae, in the State of Rio de Janeiro.

R13 was formed in 2009, to provide the rapidly growing Brazilian oil and gas industry with; fluid pump rental, hose recertification, pigging and testing services, hydro-jetting and chemical cleaning services. R13 has developed an impressive track record, providing equipment and services for the; NOC, IOCs, subsea construction companies, major international service companies, and local Brazilian companies. Work has been undertaken throughout Brazil from the Northeast to the South, building up a reputation for providing a service which is; reliable, of a high quality, with an impressive safety record.

This acquisition, along with the recently signed agreement between IKM and Geoterra Servicos Ltda, a Brazilian company specializing in the installation, operation and maintenance of onshore gas compression plants, provides IKM Testing with an operational base in Macae (the current hub of the Brazilian offshore market), and a local skilled workforce, allowing IKM – Geoterra to provide a comprehensive range of testing services in Brazil. The first operation to be completed by IKM-Geoterra kicks off in Angra dos Reis at the start of August, providing testing and bolting services during the final fabrication work on one of the many FPSOs to be installed in Brazilian waters.
