At the end of July, the Stemat Spirit completed laying and burying of the third export cable at London Array and has now left the site.

This is the third of four export cables which run from the onshore substation at Cleve Hill to the two offshore substations at the wind farm site.

The cables carry the power generated from the turbines to the onshore substation and also hold vital fibre optic wires that are used to communicate remotely with the wind turbines to monitor and control their performance.

Weather permitting, the Stemat Spirit will be back onsite to start the installation of the fourth and final export cable by the end of August.
