A mutually acceptable solution has been achieved over a balance of interests and a new social plan amid constructive negotiations between the management and the union of Cuxhaven Steel Construction CSC.

The operational tasks of the CSC for the BARD Offshore 1 will be completed by 31 October 2012. The BARD group is still in talks with potential investors. Also, there are negotiations on foreign orders, which could ensure a full or at least partial utilization.

If this effort should not be successful, the employment demand would decrease successively. By March 2013 a total of 217 employees would be affected.

The staff of the CSC have made a major contribution in the construction of BARD Offshore 1 with their expertise and thus enabled the growth of the German young offshore wind industry.
