COSLPromoter, the semi-submersible rig which was delivered on 25 April by COSL Drilling Europe AS, a subsidiary of China Oilfield Services Limited, has recently arrived in Norwegian waters following a long journey from China.
The voyage, which took 79 days and covered 15,097 nautical miles, was successfully completed with efforts from all crew members. Upon receipt of relevant certificates and completion of adaptive modifications, COSLPromoter will deliver service for an 8-year operation contract with Norway’ oil company Statoil in Norwegian waters. The rig will be deployed at Statoil’s North Sea field, Troll.
COSLPromoter, the third semi-submersible drilling rig CIMC Raffles built for COSL, shares the same design as rigs COSLPioneer and COSLInnovator which were delivered and had commenced operations earlier.
The rig is constructed in accordance with requirements of Norwegian Petroleum Safety Administration （PSA), Norwegian Maritime Directorate （NMD), Det Norske Veritas （DNV), the NORSOK petroleum industry safety standards and relevant traditional requirements for semi-submersible rigs. It can be deployed in the Norwegian North Sea as well as other regions in the world.
