The latest official figures show that Phase One of ADPC’s flagship Khalifa Port is 1% from completion.

The Port, whose high-tech infrastructure and new semi-automated Container Terminal open on September 1st, is 99% complete.

Its capacity is 2.5 million TEU containers per year.

Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad), adjacent to the Port, is 93.6% completed. The megaproject is 98% completed.

Khalifa Port is the most technologically advanced Port in the MENA region and Kizad will grow into one of the largest Industrial Zones in the world.

Tony Douglas, CEO, ADPC comments:

“I am delighted to see that we are on track to open Khalifa Port at 0700 on September 1st on schedule and within budget. With only 1% of the Port left to deliver, we are in touching distance of final completion.

We are excited by the disciplined progress made by all of our colleagues and stakeholders and I would like to thank them all, especially the wise leadership of the Government, for their support and hard work.

September 1st will be a very proud day not only for ADPC but also for the economy of the Emirate as we play our part in helping to fulfil the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.”
