The German shipping company Held has recently picked the GL ShipManager system as the new platform for their technical ship management activities. The software will be installed in their Haren office and on all vessels.

The fleet of held shipmanagement has grown over the last years. Today, the fleet comprises 30 vessels. Most of them are multi-purpose vessels, but also mini bulkers and container vessels are technically managed.

To keep up with the times, the Haren located ship manager has always sought innovative ways to deploy their strength in challenging markets. Thus, Held committed to allocate its technical ship management know-how with partners of the shipping industry to guarantee a high profitability to its investors even in troublesome markets. To make their ship management more efficient, Held was looking for a comprehensive and easy to handle system to streamline their processes better. “As cost awareness and service combined with environmental protection has always been high on the agenda, we were looking for an integrated software solution that fulfils our company’s internal requirements while managing our operational key processes more efficiently” comments Bernhard Held (Managing Director) .

The GL ShipManager software facilitates maintenance activities, supports quality and safety management processes and simplifies data and information management. Intelligent data synchronization between office and ship ensures that the same information is available onboard and onshore.

GL Maritime Software will start with the project implementation in August 2012.
