On Saturday August 18, 2012, the Greater Houston Port Bureau honored Jerry Nagel, chairman of the board of Rickmers-Linie (America), as the 2012 Maritime Person of the Year.
Three speakers shared their experiences with Jerry Nagel throughout the years.
Gerhard Janssen, Director Marketing & Sales at Rickmers-Linie was one of these speakers and said in his speech:
“ Jerry was instrumental in growing the team, the reputation and the market presence of our company here in the U.S. He was leading the Houston business operation through a period of significant growth during his days – starting new services and enhancing our business portfolio .”
