Antwerp-based Scaldis Salvage and Marine Contractors ordered the Star fleet management system and related implementation services with Dutch company MirTac.
Scaldis, well-known for amongst others the heavy-lifting/floating crane vessel Rambiz, chose MirTac after a thorough selection process with multiple suppliers.

Antwerp-based Scaldis Salvage and Marine Contractors performs projects involving marine-based heavy lifts, ranging from engineering, design and diving up to heavy- lifting. Scaldis’ fleet consists of multipurpose sea-going heavy lift vessel Rambiz and multipurpose sheerleg Norma. The Rambiz is fully certified for ocean passage with cranes fully erected and has a lifting capacity of 3.300 tons. She is suitable for platform installation and removal, wreckage removal and other special heavy lifting tasks. The Norma is a self-propelled multipurpose sheerlegs with a lifting capacity of 440 tons. Scaldis expects a new innovative heavy-lift vessel to be delivered in 2014.
