A main player in the offshore wind industry, the Iberdrola – Eole Res consortium is Silver sponsor for the 2 nd Edition of THETIS EMR, which will be held in Brest on 10 th and 11 th April 2013.

In April 2012, the French government awarded the Iberdrola – Eole Res consortium exclusive rights to develop an offshore wind farm in the Saint Brieuc Bay, following tender, off the coast of Brittany in the Côtes d’Armor. The project concerns the development, construction and operation of an offshore wind farm of a total installed capacity of 500 MW (100 wind turbines).

To develop this challenging industrial project, the consortium has joined forces with NEOEN MARINE, specialised in wind farm development, AREVA, exclusive turbine supplier for the Saint Brieuc site and TECHNIP, world leader in the conception of complex offshore and onshore projects, in charge of installing the farm at sea.

This partnership between Iberdrola, Spanish power supplier and the world’s leading producer of wind energy and Eole Res, major French operator in renewable energy, is built on the significant experience gained by the numerous renewable energy projects developed by these two companies. With an installed capacity of more than 14,000 MW of wind energy, Iberdrola is world leader in the sector.

The Group has also one of the largest European portfolios of offshore wind projects, with more than 12,500 MW at various stages of development. For its part, the company RES, via its subsidiary RES Offshore, is behind over 5,000 MW of offshore wind either in service, under construction or under development.
