Ensco plc announced today that based on preliminary inspections its U.S. Gulf of Mexico operations have not been damaged by Hurricane Isaac.

Ensco’s drillship and semisubmersible rigs successfully mobilized away from the storm and a flyover inspection indicates no damage to the Company’s jackup rigs that were secured and evacuated ahead of the hurricane. Ensco’s warehouse facility in Broussard, Louisiana also is undamaged.

Steps are already being taken to mobilize Ensco’s drillship and semisubmersible rigs back to their drilling locations and to re-crew rigs that were evacuated. Ensco has 10 jackup rigs, one drillship and five semisubmersible rigs in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
