Statoil Petroleum AS (Statoil) has received consent to carry out exploration drilling of well 31/2-P-24 AH with the Stena Don mobile drilling facility.

The consent relates to drilling of well 31/2-P-24 AH. The well is located on the Troll field, and is part of production licences 054 and 085, where Statoil is the operator.

The well will be drilled as a sidetrack from existing production well 31/2-P-24 H. The objective is to investigate an exploration prospect in the Brent formation.

Expected start-up of drilling activities is 16 September 2012. The activity has an estimated duration of 30 days.

Stena Don is operated by Stena Drilling, and is a Sonat/Hitachi designed, semi-submersible drilling facility, built in 2001. An Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) was granted in March 2002.
