On September 3, 2012, the Offshore Division of COSCO Shipyard Group was officially established after extensive and in-depth research and preparation.
At the founding meeting, party secretary of COSCO Shipyard Group Ma Zhihong announced the establishment of the Offshore Division and appointed the leadership team.
General Manager of COSCO Shipyard Group Wang Yuhang made an important speech, further clarifying the main responsibility of the Offshore Division: a) the planning and developing of the offshore business; b) technological innovation of offshore construction; c) the construction and promotion of offshore management system; d) the introduction and cultivation of offshore technology professionals.
Mr. Wang pointed out that, as the financial crisis deepens its impact on world economy, the ship repair & building market continues to slump; whether COSCO Shipyard Groups can survive the severe situation and prosper is prominently determined by the development of the Offshore Division. The establishment of the Offshore Division is a milestone for the company and is entrusted with the important mission of making COSCO Shipyard a key enterprise in the field of offshore manufacturing in China.
